Our Bestest Kids - all 4,000+ of them
Since 2008, over 4,000 children have become part of the Bestest family through the assistance we have been able to provide to ease their heavy burdens and their neglected needs.

These children have all faced enormous challenges, whether it be battling an illness, obtaining needed equipment for their disabilities, gaining access to education or getting urgent assistance when they are at risk. Most were falling outside the standard boundaries of the larger established charities and government support, and hence falling through the cracks.
When they have no one else to turn to, Bestest will seek to be there for the Bestest kids.

"How can you not be touched"
Ethan
5-year-old Ethan has Lissencephaly ("Smooth Brain"), which causes serious developmental problems. Little Ethan has no muscle control, impaired vision, no communication and great difficulty swalling or eating. He is highly susceptible to infections and seizures and needs medical equipment for his care at home. Mum and Dad had asked for nothing, but their situation had become critical. On a trip to the hospital for Ethan, Mum was in a car accident and fractured her spine. Almost coincidentally, Dad was laid off work. It’s families like this who fall between the cracks and need our support.
Isabel
Little 5-year-old Isabel had been diagnosed with a rare degenerative disorder which involves the progressive wasting of the muscles in her body. Her twin sisters will likely follow the same degenerative loss. Bestest purchased a modified vehicle, to transport up to four wheelchairs, to help the family.
Emma
Emma was born prematurely at 28 weeks, completely deaf, and spent her first 6 months in hospital with chronic lung disease and chest infections. Mum is a single mother to 5 children and had been diagnosed with depression. Bestest paid $24,000 for Cochlear Implants so that Emma could hear for the first time.
Lilly
Little 8-year-old Lilly was born with Mitochondrial Disorder, a degenerative disease. Maya is vision impaired, has epilepsy, is fed via a tube and unable to walk or talk. Lilly’s mum, is a single mother who also has a 12 years old daughter. Bestest purchased a modified wheelchair access vehicle to help her Mum and sister care for Lilly.
Adam
12-year-old Adam was diagnosed with Cancer and subsequently relapsed. He was later put into palliative care. His cancer journey was long and very distressing for Adam and his family. His mum was working before Adam's diagnosis and tried to maintain part-time work during his long treatment but proved impossible. The family had to rely on the father’s income and struggled to make ends meet. Bestest stepped in and provided Adam’s family support to help pay bills.
